                                    Southeast New Mexico, West Texas. Site Supervision on Morrow and Bone Springs, primarily straight hole application. Most of the work was footage contracts. These wells, in general, were drilled salinity matched, with a balanced hydrostatic, mudding up when necessary, or, to cover formation.

 

1994-2002                   Tool Pusher / Driller, Peterson Drilling, Peterson UTI Drilling, UTI Drilling, Patterson UTI Drilling, Contracted to Yates Petroleum, Mewborne, Marbob, HEYCO.

                                    Morrow, Strawn, Bone Springs, Wolf Camp, San Andres, etc. Primarily drilled with straight hole application. Most of the work was footage contracts.

 

1989 – 1994                Tool Pusher / Driller, Exeter Drilling, Nabors Drilling, Contracted to Texaco, Yates Petroleum, Meridian

                                    Southeast Texas New Mexico / West Texas. Morrow, Strawn, Bone Springs, Wolf Camp, San Andres, etc. Primarily drilled with straight hole application. Most of the work was footage contracts. However, for Texaco, we were day work contracted drilling target wells. We also did several slim hole re-entries, deepening wells to the Morrow for Meridian.

 

1986 - 1989                 Oil field Equipment Rental and Service

Multiple clients in Permian Basin. Mesa Petroleum biggest client / customer. Southeast New Mexico / West Texas. Contract Well Testing and pre-flowing.     Site Consulting, Work-over and Drilling. I also offered various oil field rental equipment including over-the-road trucks. The down-trend for oil-related business made it very difficult to secure a client list in more than one assignment and short-term rentals.

 

1981 - 1986                 Tool Pusher, Dual Drilling contracted to Mesa, Exxon, ARCO.

                                    Southeast New Mexico / West Texas. Maintaining a standard of operation through training and leadership. This included the safe operation of the equipment to the general safety of the total project including the Well bore. Morrow, Strawn, and in Chaves County, NM, I was involved in an infield Abo Play at ± 4,000 feet. Campaign for Mesa Petroleum. The wells were drilled with air, when applicable. I managed all equipment including the air package on this             project.

 

1980 - 1981                 Tool Pusher / Driller. Parker Driller contracted to Houston Natural Gas.

                                    East Texas near Lufkin, Texas, Southeast Texas, New Mexico. Cotton Valley and under-balanced Morrow wells south of Loving, NM. Maintaining a standard of operation through training and leadership. This included the safe operation of the equipment to the general safety of the total project including the Well bore. My rig was assigned to Southeast NM. After a rig burned down in Lufkin, TX, we were assigned to replace it. Houston Natural Gas had a very aggressive drilling program that required very experienced rig personnel. We had good success following their drilling prognosis.

 

1975 - 1980                 Derrickman / Driller / Toolpusher. Noble Drilling, contracted to TheSuperior Oil Company, Conoco Oil Company.

                                    Southwestern Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. 10,000 to 14,000-ft. wells in the Texas Panhandle to over 20,000 ft. wells near Weatherford, OK.

 

1975 - 1975                 Lofland Brothers, Assistant Driller and Derrickman.

Elk City, Oklahoma. Maintained the chemical integrity of the drilling fluid and the mechanical integrity of the drilling fluid, the mechanical operation of the        pumps. When necessary, help with training and always be willing to lend a handto the aide when needed. During trips, I operated the pipe skate alongside the driller and only went in the derrick to work the drill collars.

 

1974 - 1975                 Derrickman, A.W. Thompson Drilling.

                                    North of Pecos, Texas near Mentone, Texas. 20,000-ft. plus.

                                    North of Tatum, NM. 12,000-ft.

 

1972 -1974                  Assistant Driller and Derrickman. Global Marine contracted to Exxon.

Gulf of Mexico, launching from Galveston, Texas and Venice, Louisiana. 250-ft. to 1,000-ft. of water. Maintained the chemical integrity of the drilling fluid and the mechanical operation of the pumps. When necessary, help with the training and always be willing to lend yourself to the aide when needed. During trips, I operated the pipe skate alongside the driller, and only went in the derrick to work the drill collars. While working on Global Ships, I learned a great deal and had some unique experiences. I also learned a great deal about people when trapped in a crisis situation. We encountered a situation and because of limited casing integrity, it was necessary to turn a well loose to the atmosphere. The gas as 12% H2S and we were in a tropical depression with 30-ft. seas. We abandoned all but essential personnel from the ship in the most unrehearsed manner imaginable. Bringing the 80-man crew down to 19, I was in the group that stayed. This event reinforced to me among other things, that practiced safety procedures are a must in this business.

 

1971 - 1972                 Derrickman. Storm Drilling contracted to Texaco.

                                    Gulf of Mexico, launching from Galveston, Texas. Directional Wells. The rig was a three-legged jack-up capable of working in 250-ft. of water.

 

1969 - 1971                 Apprentice Carpenter to Journeyman Millwright. Carpenter’s Local Union 235, Riverside, CA. Working for Tuter, Sallba & Potashnic Construction Co. Limited Venture.

Working on a Dam Project and an underground water filtration plant for the city   of Santiago. Through a series of testing and work quality through the Union Hall and signoffs from the Construction Company, including endorsements from the State and Federal Inspectors, I became the only Journeyman Millwright on the job site. My duties were to fabricate the structural steel relevant to carpenters she-bolt wall forms. For upset vertical concrete wall-pours and build pads for pipeline valve sets, etc.

 

1968 - 1969                 Derrickman. Baget Drilling Company Contracted to Amoco.

                                    Southeast of Eagle Pass, TX. Straight hole, ± 8,000'. Second job in the oil field, working with a minors release.

 

1967 - 1968                 Trainee Floor man / Derrick man, Field Drilling Company.

                                    Southeast of Eagle Pass, TX. 18,000' straight hole. Trainee Program, hardship license, minors release certificate.
